Minecraftle strategy

These notes are about how to spend a guess. They do not reveal the daily recipe. The shared pattern changes at 00:00 UTC on the homepage, and it stays hidden until your round ends.

Opening placements

The tray never changes: Planks, Stick, Cobblestone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, String, and Redstone, plus Empty. Guess four will not hand you a new material. A useful first guess is a shape you can interpret, not a random fill of all nine cells. If every cell is a different material, a board of Move and Not needed is hard to untangle.

Start compact. Place two or three copies of one common material, plus one different material, and leave the rest empty. You are testing a footprint and a material, not decorating the grid. Change as little as you can on the next guess. If you rewrite the whole board, you cannot tell which edit fixed a Move.

Shapes can shift and mirror and still match the recipe. If a compact group of Correct and Move marks looks slid one column to the right, try the slide before you throw the materials away. The scoring rules are on the rules page.

Reading the feedback markers

Correct means stop moving that slot on a normal round, unless you have a specific reason to test another orientation. On hard mode you cannot change it, including a Correct empty slot, so the first guess matters more.

Move means the ingredient stays in the recipe and needs a different cell. Park it in an open cell that is not already Correct. Do not replace it with a new material until you have found a home for it, or a later guess proves you have too many copies.

Not needed means that ingredient is out for this recipe. Take it off and do not spend the next guess putting it back in a new corner.

Copies are counted. Correct cells are claimed first, then leftover copies can be Move, and anything beyond the recipe’s count is Not needed. If you placed three of a material and only one cell is Correct, the other two are not automatically useful. Read each mark.

Keep Correct cells, relocate one Move, and drop one Not needed. You have 10 guesses. That is enough for small edits if you do not repeat a grid you already checked. Repeating an arrangement does not spend a guess, so make each check a real change.

Using empty slots

Empty is information. A Correct empty cell tells you that part of the pattern is blank. A blank that is not Correct tells you that cell wants a material. Filling every cell “just in case” hides that signal and spends materials you might have wanted to test one at a time.

Leave a row or a corner empty on purpose in the opening, then believe the mark. On hard mode, a Correct empty cell locks. A casual blank becomes a commitment, so do not scatter empties you are not prepared to keep. On a normal round you can still fill a Correct empty later, but you throw away a fact you already paid a guess to learn.

You must place at least one ingredient before Check will run. An all-empty grid is not a guess. One material plus eight empties is a legal, readable probe of a single cell.

Worked example

This example is a teaching pattern only. It is not today’s puzzle, and it will not become the daily recipe after the UTC reset. Imagine the hidden pattern is three planks across the top row, a stick in the center cell, and a stick in the bottom center. Everything else is empty.

Suppose the first guess puts those three planks on the bottom row, a stick in the center, and a diamond in a corner, with the other cells empty.

  • Each plank on the bottom row is Move. The material belongs in the recipe, and the row is wrong. Slide the three planks up to the top row on the next guess instead of swapping them for cobblestone.
  • The center stick is Correct. Leave it. On hard mode the game will lock it for you.
  • The diamond is Not needed. Remove it and do not bring diamond back this round.
  • The empty cells that should stay empty can come back Correct. Keep those blanks. The bottom-center cell, if you left it empty, is not Correct, because the pattern wants a stick there. That blank is a prompt to place the second stick, not a reason to fill every empty cell.

The second guess is then small: planks on the top row, both sticks in place, diamond gone, and the true empty cells left blank. You learned that from the marks. You did not need a list of recipes.

What this page will not do

There is no recipe card further down, and there will not be one after the UTC reset. A page that named the daily pattern would be wrong the next morning and would skip the puzzle for everyone who shares that date. When you finish, the board can show the pattern you were guessing. Share copies marks, not a recipe name.

This site also does not fill the grid for you. The three marks are the method: lock Correct, move what belongs, drop what does not, and treat empty as a real slot. If you want reps that do not touch today’s streak, open Unlimited. Your unfinished daily board stays in this browser. Past dates are playable from the archive without this page listing what they were. Future dates do not open.
