Minecraftle hints
These hints are about how to spend a guess. They are not today’s recipe. The daily answer changes at 00:00 UTC on the homepage, and it is not written on this page.
Start with a small, readable shape
The tray is always the same: Planks, Stick, Cobblestone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, String, and Redstone, plus Empty. You will not be handed a new material on guess four. A useful first guess is a shape you can interpret, not a random fill of all nine cells. If every cell is a different material, a board full of Move and Not needed is hard to untangle.
Leave some cells empty on purpose. Empty is information. A Correct empty cell tells you that part of the pattern is blank. A wrong blank tells you that cell wants a material. Filling every cell “just in case” hides that signal and burns materials you might have wanted to test one at a time.
Shapes can shift and mirror and still match the recipe. If a compact group of Correct and Move marks looks like a pattern slid one column to the right, try the slide before you throw the materials away. The how to play guide shows one teaching layout and labels it as not today’s puzzle. Use that only as a picture of the marks, then go back to your own board.
Use the marks before you swap everything
Correct means stop moving that slot. On a normal round you are allowed to change it. Don’t, unless you have a specific reason to test another orientation. On hard mode you cannot change it, including a Correct empty slot, so the first guess matters more.
Move means the ingredient stays. Park it in a different open cell. Do not replace it with a new material until you have found a home for it or a later guess proves you have too many copies. Not needed means that ingredient is out for this recipe. Take it off and do not spend the next guess putting it back in a new corner.
Copies are counted. Correct cells are claimed first, then leftover copies can be Move, and anything beyond that is Not needed. If you placed three of a material and only one cell is Correct, the other two are not automatically useful. Read each mark. The scoring detail is on the rules page.
Change as little as you can between guesses. If you rewrite the whole grid, you cannot tell which edit fixed a Move. Keep Correct cells, relocate one Move, and drop one Not needed. That is slower to click and faster to understand. You have 10 guesses, which is enough for that kind of edit if you do not repeat a grid you already checked.
Today’s recipe is not on this page
There is no spoiler block further down, and there will not be one after the UTC reset either. A hint page that named the daily pattern would be wrong tomorrow morning and would skip the puzzle for everyone who shares the same UTC date. If you already finished and want to talk about the result, share the mark grid from the board. That text does not include the recipe name.
If you are stuck on today and you do not want a spoiler, open Unlimited and practice the same marks on a different recipe. Unlimited does not change your daily streak, and your unfinished daily board stays saved in this browser. Come back to the homepage when you want another guess at the UTC recipe.
Older dates are playable from the archive without this page listing what they were. Future dates do not open. The answer page is about that reset, not a recipe card. The solver page is the same idea as these hints, written as a process instead of a lookup.
Questions
Does this page show today’s Minecraftle recipe?
No. The daily answer is not shown here. Play the homepage for today’s UTC puzzle. These hints only explain how to use Correct, Move, and Not needed.
What should I do with a Move mark?
Keep the ingredient and try a different slot. Move means it is in the recipe, not that the slot is right. Not needed means you can drop that ingredient for the rest of the round.
Where can I practice without touching my streak?
Use Unlimited. The written walkthrough is how to play Minecraftle.
